Engineering, manufacturing, and industrial processing expertise since 1960

Our Founder

It began with an idea. It went on to transform an industry.

Continuous technological innovation is my highest priority.

– Manuel Seva Toledo

Maseto’s story began in 1960, when Manuel Seva Toledo started manufacturing and repairing machinery for companies in the nougat and nut industries. Developed in response to customers’ real production needs, those first machines laid the foundation for an approach that continues to define Maseto today: understanding each process, developing purpose-built solutions, and evolving alongside the industry.

Our Story

We don’t count years. We count milestones.

1960

The Beginning

From hands-on experience to the founding of Maseto

Manuel Seva Toledo began his career as a carpenter in Alicante, where he helped manufacture machinery for the milling industry. In 1960, he decided to launch his own venture, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Maseto. He initially repaired machinery and soon began manufacturing his own equipment for companies in the nougat and nut industries.

1964

Early In-House Developments

Innovation that opened the door to international markets

During its early years, the company began developing proprietary industrial solutions, including hoppers, screening equipment, and conveyor systems. In 1964, it introduced innovative machines such as the almond peeler and pneumatic separator. Their efficiency and build quality opened the door to Maseto’s first international markets, including the United States.

1970

Growth and Consolidation

Expanding across Spain and beyond

Throughout the 1970s, the continuous improvement of Maseto’s processing systems fueled the company’s growth in Spain and abroad. Maseto expanded its domestic presence, grew its workforce, invested in new capabilities, and enlarged its facilities. At the same time, it strengthened its international reach and built closer relationships with leading almond companies in California. This period of growth culminated in 1979, when Maseto was incorporated as a limited liability company and officially registered its trademark.

1982

Engineering

The rise of sesame and Maseto’s international consolidation

In response to the lack of modern sesame-processing equipment, Maseto developed complete automated lines specifically designed for this product. This strategy positioned the company as an industry leader and further strengthened its international reputation.
During this period, José Manuel Seva García led Maseto’s international sales strategy, working to consolidate the company’s global presence, enter new markets, and establish a branch in California to serve the American sesame industry.

1990

Innovation and Recognition

Recognizing a history shaped by innovation

By the early 1990s, Maseto had become a well-established industrial company with more than 50 professionals and a proven track record of developing innovative technological solutions for nut and sesame processing.
In 1992, the International Nut & Dried Fruit Council recognized this achievement by presenting Maseto with the Corporate Golden Nut Award, one of the industry’s leading international honors.

2003

Manufacturing

Pioneering high-capacity processing equipment

Maseto reached a new milestone in industrial performance with the development of high-capacity production lines designed to achieve outputs of between 3,000 and 4,000 kg per hour.

2010

Expansion

Maseto’s first complete processing plant in East Asia

Maseto manufactured and installed its first complete large-scale processing plant in East Asia, marking its evolution from a supplier of standalone equipment to a provider of comprehensive processing solutions.

2022

Quality

International quality certification

Maseto earned ISO 9001 certification from SGS, reinforcing its commitment to a management system built around quality assurance, process control, and continuous improvement.

2023

Growth

New facilities built for continued growth

Maseto expanded its production capacity with a new 5,000m2 facility, designed to accommodate larger projects and support the company’s continued international growth.
