Description
The in-shell product enters through the hopper (optional) or inlet, which has a feed auger at the bottom that supplies a rod cylinder and hammer shaft. The almonds are struck by the hammers until their shells break. Once broken, the shell fragments and almond kernels fall through the rods to an outlet. Unbroken almonds leave through a separate outlet whose flow can be adjusted by means of a flap.
