Description
The product falls by gravity through the inlet or, optionally, through a hopper with a feeder. Inside the machine, it is exposed to an air stream from a fan in the lower section.
The airflow must be accurately adjusted so that unwanted material, generally dust and skins, is directed to the reject outlet and the required product is conveyed through the outlet to the next process.
Adjustment flaps vary the volume of air passing through the product, adapting it to the material being processed. A filter installed upstream of the flaps ensures that the intake air is as clean as possible and free from impurities that could adhere to the product.
